Finding New Friends
I am really bad! I was introduced to PPP/IZEA through my sister. She was a seasoned pro by the time I started, so all of my questions have been directed to her. If she didn’t have the answer she would hop over to the boards and ask the question for me. That’s how she learned the ropes. If there was a question, there was a huge, fun community to help find the answer. Because of this, she has MANY friends in the network. She’s met many of them IRL. When we were in Vegas she knew everyone, and even though I didn’t get to meet all of them she was able to point them out by name and even by their blog. I was impressed, but I also felt a little sad that I had missed out on the same opportunity. I now visit the boards daily, and have even ventured out a few times to ask and answer questions on my own.
There has recently been a “re-vamp” to the old boards, and the new ones are shiny and streamlined. This makes for a really cool new look. There were so many threads, under so many different categories and now there are a number of threads, but fewer categories. I find this both good and bad. First, I now can find everything new that has been put out. Before if someone added something to a section of the boards I never visited, I wouldn’t even know it was there, even if it was something I would be interested in. So that’s nice. I go to one place and everything is there. The downside of this is that there are now thread after thread of things I wouldn’t mind not seeing. But that is just me being an organizational freak, and I really do need to let up on some of that!
If you haven’t been over to visit the new boards, you are really missing out. Not on just some great information, but on some really great friends as well!!
